He also participated in the 2008 Red Bull Music Academy in Barcelona, Spain.He began his music career in early 2007 DJing in South Africa alongside local acts like Black Coffeeand international visitors like Louie Vega and Rocco.Following his forays in DJing, Culoe De Song began exploring production where he collaborated with Black Coffee on the track 100 Zulu Warriors,who included the tunes tribal aural assault on his second album Have Another One. In 2011, he released his album Elevation with the help of Kindnes Khupe, a Zimbabwean-born tribal mix DJ.Later, he released Exodus (2013).Culoe De Song recently won The Best Male Artist for the 2014 Metro FM Awards for his album Exodus,an album that was featured on Rolling Stone's (South Africa) Top 500 Albums of 2013. He released his first album, A Giant Leap, in 2009. His first name, Culolethu, is an IsiZulu name meaning our song, and he is known as Culoor Culoemeaning song the name is pronounced with a clicking C, not to be erroneously pronounced like the Spanish word culo, which rhymes with cool.
Also, he is now working on a number of projects as part of his emerging international introduction, including the Reggie Dokes “ Let Me Go” EP released on Boddhi Satva’s Offering Recordings, Belgium.Culoe De Song is working towards making a number of world appearances & portraying the best image of what lies in the inside his heart.Culolethu Zulu (born 20 August 1990 in Eshowe, Kwazulu Natal), known commonly by his stage name Culoe De Song, is a South African producer, remixer and DJ. releasing tracks such as “The Bright Forest”, “Super Afro” & “African Subway”. During that time Culoe De Song performed in places such as Club Macarena & Fellini in Barcelona.Culoe De Song signed under Germany’s Innervisions, a family of acts such as Dixon, Ame, Henrik Schwarz. Tracks such as “Dwellers of the Jungle”, “Inspiration”, “100 Zulu Warriors (Remix)” made compilation releases in South Africa.Culoe De Song also achieved a great involvement with the Red Bull Music Academy after being selected to be one of the worldwide participants to attend the Academy in Barcelona, Spain in 2008. This was after his performance as Dj was noted by the likes of DJ Christos, one of South Africa’s pioneers in the dance music scene.He then joins Soulistic Music, a label founded by Black Coffee and till this moment it’s been a great adventure for Culoe De Song as a member of this family. The track was named “100 Zulu Warriors” & carries a fundamental importance for Culoe De Song as he regards it as ‘his beginning’ in the circle of music in South Africa.Comes the year 2008, he produced a number of projects that gained him international recognition and performed alongside international acts such as Rocco, Manoo, Black Coffee, Vinny Da Vinci. Culoe’s serious music career began in early 2007 where he produced a piece that made him a feature in Black Coffee’s second offering, “Have Another One”.
